Labor Law: representation of labor unions in all aspects of union functions.
After a lengthy and distinguished career as a union-side labor lawyer with another Boston area law firm,
Attorney Wanger joined McDonald Lamond Canzoneri as “Of Counsel” on June 1, 2012.
His personal expertise is in grievance mediation and arbitration, the negotiation of collective bargaining
agreements and interest disputes. He represents a widespread number of firefighter unions throughout
Massachusetts, including the Boston Firefighters; the Massachusetts State Police; as well as numerous
newspaper and other private sector labor unions throughout New England. Attorney Wanger has been
an adjunct faculty member at Boston State College, Suffolk University School of Law, as well as at the
Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he taught public and
private sector labor law courses. He has also presented classes at the Labor Guild and participated in
seminars conducted by the American Arbitration Association and by various bar associations regarding
alternative dispute resolution process. While at Sloan, he co-authored an article on labor relations,
published in Challenges and Choices Facing American Labor (MIT Press, 1985).
Attorney Wanger was the 2004 Cushing-Gavin Award recipient from the Labor Guild, Archdiocese of
Boston. He has been listed in “The Best Lawyers in America” for many years as well as in the “Super
Lawyers” edition of Boston Magazine.
