In 2008, Attorney Alan McDonald, in combination with the leadership of several police union clients, established the Massachusetts Municipal Police Coalition. The primary purposes of the MMPC are to encourage the exchange of information and assistance among participating police unions and to monitor and participate in debate of legislative initiatives important to the safety and working conditions of police officers within Massachusetts. Since its inaugural meetings among the Cambridge Police Patrol Officers Association, the Cambridge Police Superior Officers Association, the Newton Police Association, and the Medford Police Patrolmen’s Association, the MMPC has become an influential voice in the policing world, now boasting 25 union members representing almost 2500 police officers in Eastern Massachusetts.
